The 18th<\/sup> of May is devoted to a special subject, different each time, related to museums and the protection of cultural heritage in general.\u00a0 For 2016, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) chose the subject \u201cMuseums and cultural landscapes\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Ephorate of Antiquities of Chios will participate in the event with an occasion devoted to the sanctuary of Cybele at Daskalopetra, and on the Ottoman fountain at \u201cVrysi tou Pasa\u201d, two monuments that have peaceful coexisted for centuries in the same cultural landscape, in the area of Vrontados.<\/p>\n
