The Ephorate of Antiquities of Chios is participating in the celebration of European Cultural Heritage Days 2016 by organizing a feature on the imprints left behind in the Castle of Chios, by the refugees of the Asia Minor Campaign of 1922. The feature will be presented on Friday 23rd<\/sup> and Sunday 25th<\/sup> of September, and include the following events:<\/p>\n

Friday 23\/9: Guided tours of school groups are the locations\/buildings in the Castle of Chios where refugees of of the Asia Minor Campaign of 1922 left their imprints. The departure point will be the Ottoman School.<\/p>\n

Sunday 25\/9: Event in the Ottoman School of th Castle from 11:00 to 12:00, on the Ottoman Mbairakli Mosque in the Castle, that hosted a refugee family of Armenian descent. The event will include:<\/p>\n

a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A talk on the history and architecture of the Ottoman mosque, and a presentation of its restoration proposal by its researcher, architect Mr. Stavros Vasilakis.<\/p>\n

b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Video screening narrated by the last resident of the mosque.<\/p>\n
