The Ephorate of Antiquities of Chios and the 2nd<\/sup> Primary School of Chios are pleased to announce the event \u201cThe 2nd<\/sup> Primary School of Chios adopts the Archaeological Museum of Chios\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fourth grade students of the 2nd<\/sup> Primary School of Chios will \u2018adopt\u2019 the neighboring Museum. For the duration of the school year, and together with the archaeologists, conservators, and antiquities security guards of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Chios, students will discover the Archaeological Museum and its treasures, learn about its operation, take care of it, and promote the cultural heritage of their land.<\/p>\n

The initiative is inspired by the very successful program \u201cThe school adopts a monument\u201d, which first started in 1992 in Napoli, Italy and, since then, has been replicated in many parts of Greece.<\/p>\n
