As every year, the Ministry of Culture and Sports will celebrate the August Full Moon with special events in archaeological sites, monuments and museums across Greece.

The Ephorate of Antiquities of Chios will participate in the celebration on Thursday August 18th 2016 by opening the following site to the public:

Byzantine Museum of Chios (Mecidiye Mosque) in Vounaki Square in the city of Chios

Ottoman School in the Castle of Chios. Guided tour of the monument, following the recent completion of its restoration project, and opening of the new exhibition space of the Ephorate with the photography exhibition “The School of the Castle. Transformation of building through time”.

Archaeological site of Emporio: guided tours of the early historic era settlement by archaeologists of the Ephorate.

Archaeological site of Archontiki at Psara: Music event in cooperation with the Municipality of Psara.

All Ephorate sites will be open to the public from 20:00 to 01:00, and admission will be free of charge.
