EUROPEAN CULTURAL HERITAGE DAYS 2018

The Ephorate of Antiquities of Chios is participating in the celebration of European Cultural Heritage Days, whose theme for 2017-2018 will be “CITI(ES)”.

Starting off at the port of Chios, a group of archaeologists from the Ephorate will attempt to highlight the different facets of Chios through time, in a walking tour around the city of Chios, visiting sites of archaeological interest, whole neighborhoods or isolated buildings that function as place marks of its history and people. Through this event, visitors will have the opportunity to read the city in a new light, examining the changes brought on by the passing times on the form, use and symbolism of the sites visited.

The event is open to everyone interested, regardless of age.

On the Sunday of the celebration admission to the Museums and archaeological sites of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Chios will be free of charge for the public.
