CONSERVATION OF THE OPUS SECTILE FLOORS OF THE KATHOLIKON OF NEA MONI ON CHIOS ISLAND

The conservation project of the opus sectile floors of the the Katholikon of Nea Moni on Chios island will enhance these impressive Byzantine works of art, inside a monument listed in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage register.

The project includes cleaning, conservation, filling in, and aesthetic restoration of the opus sectile floors of the Katholikon, as well as repairs on the stone bench that surrounds the church, thus completing the restoration project of the entire Katholikon.
