EMPORIO – A SETTLEMENT FROM EARLY HISTORIC TIMES

EMPORIO – A SETTLEMENT FROM EARLY HISTORIC TIMES

The excavations carried out by the British School at Athens at Emporio (1952-1955) headed by archaeologist John Boardman, brought to light the remains of an Early Bronze Age installation on the small peninsula south of the harbor, and the remains of the early historic settlement on the 240 m high, Prophetis Elias hill.

The book presents the archaeological site of Emporio after the completion of the enhancement project that was co-funded by the Ministry of Culture and the European Union, within the Operational Program “Politismos” of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
